Big Toe

Mike -

Last year I went through a last minute, very unexpected surgery to repair some ruptured areas in my intestines. The surgery turned out to be the "easy" part. A few days after being cut open I had the misfortune of blood clots moving into my lungs. To save a long story I recovered and I am still annoying the world some fifteen months later.

I, too, experienced a bout of depression like you had described. I went from the guilt of surving the medical ordeal to crying at the drop of a hat. My drive to recover and heal was matched by anger of what had happened to me.

In the end I opted out of taking meds to help the depression. I leaned heavily upon family, friends and the good Lord to get me by. And I did get by.

I wish you continued good health.
